Carla has worked as an Art Director, Illustrator,Graphic Artist and Fine Artist for over 20 years. Working Primarily in acrylic, oil, and pencil, her favorite subject is people: portraits, character studies and figure drawings. Equally involved in performance art, Carla is often challenged/criticized for not sticking to one discipline: 'I'm good at is observing people and situations. Both performance and visual art serve as outlets for all that information.' Many works are inspired from photos taken while travelling. She's been featured in one-woman and group gallery and museum shows throughout Texas and in New York and has illustrated books and numerous posters and brochures. Her artwork has been featured in a documentary, in films in the US and Cuba, and is collected internationally.
